Subject: problem with mktexpk / font optima

Dear Sirs,

I have a problem with using the Optima font omb8u, copb, ...

When I try to apply
	latex test.tex && xdvi test.dvi
to the test file in appendix A, I always get an error message
(see appendix B) although my ls-R file looks quite okay (see
appendix C). I am using the latex/xdvi versions given in
appendix D. The '\sf' directive and 'optima.dvi' file (which
I have found in the internet) do not produce any Optima font
letters, too.

Can somebody explain me how to use the Optima font, please?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely
by order Arne Woerner

appendix A: tex file
\documentclass{report}
\usepackage{epsfig}
\usepackage{a4}

\begin{document}

\begin{tabular}{lll}
a & \epsfbox{cat.eps} & c \\
1 & 2 & 3 \\
\end{tabular}

Laa-Laa Dipsy und Poh sind lustig. Tinky-Winky ist \epsfxsize=10mm\epsfysize=1mm\epsfbox{cat.eps} auch ziemlich witzig.
